Program Overview

Drug Court Judge: Honorable Keith M. Spaeth

Mission Statement
The mission of Drug Court is to enhance public safety by preventing recidivism, while assisting participants in taking responsibility for their behavioral health issues. Drug Court shall use effective, evidence-based interventions and treatments in a holistic, accountability-based, community-supported approach.

Goals and Objectives
Goal: Assist participants to lead a clean and sober lifestyle.
Objective: Participants shall abstain from abusing illegal drugs and prescription medications, which shall be monitored through random/observed drug testing.

Goal: Enhance the community and public safety by reducing recidivism.
Objective: Participants shall be supervised by the Butler County Adult Probation Department to ensure additional crimes are not committed.

Goal: Improve living circumstances of participants involved in the Program.
Objective: Participants shall obtain stable employment, stable housing, and establish pro-social relationships while in Drug Court.

Participation Agreement
A Participation Agreement has been created detailing the rights and responsibilities of the participants in Drug Court. The participant has a right to the detailed, written Participation Agreement outlining the requirements and processes of Drug Court. The Participation Agreement includes the participant’s right to request the attendance of defense counsel during the portion of the treatment team meeting concerning the participant.  Click here to receive a Drug Court Participation Agreement.

Participant Handbook
A Participant Handbook has been created detailing Drug Court requirements, rules, phases, incentives, sanctions, and termination criteria. The participant shall receive a written copy of the Participant Handbook.  Click here to receive a Drug Court Participant Handbook.
