The Butler County Department of Court Services, Investigations Division is primarily responsible for conducting investigations related to pre-sentence investigations (PSI), judicial releases, sealing of records, jail time credit, driving record checks, relief from disability, and certificates of qualified employment (CQE).

The Investigations Division does supervise offenders ordered to complete a term in a Community Based Correctional Facility (CBCF).  Upon completion of the CBCF, the offender may remain under the supervision of the Investigations Division until the offender is ready for transfer to General Supervision.

To comply with the best evidence based practices, the Manager of the Investigations Division or designee delivers quality assurance (QA) through observation of all staff using cognitive behavioral treatment techniques to ensure that consultations with offenders are provided in a consistent manner, utilizing approved methods and techniques.
