Judge Stephens

Greg Stephens was appointed Judge of the Common Pleas Court, General Division, on February 24, 2016, by Governor John Kasich, and began serving on the bench on March 14, 2016. Judge Stephens graduated from Lakota High School in West Chester; Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Finance; and the University of Dayton School of Law in 1995.

After two years of private practice experience in criminal law, civil law, estates and taxation, Judge Stephens joined the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office in August, 1997. In a career that spanned over 18 years, Judge Stephens spent five years as the Chief Assistant Prosecutor of the Juvenile Division, prosecuted for four and a half years in the felony child assault division and served as room prosecutor for Judge Charles Pater since June, 2010.

Judge Stephens spent nearly two years on assignment as a full-time Special Assistant United States Attorney from February, 2012, to November, 2013, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a successful trial attorney in Federal District Court and received a commendation from the Drug Enforcement Agency.
